Functional classification of rearview mirrors

The rearview mirror mainly reflects the situation in the rear, side and below of the car, so that the driver can further see the situation in these positions, thereby expanding the driver's field of vision. The functions of the rearview mirror are classified as follows:

1. Divided by installation position: there are exterior mirrors, lower mirrors and inner mirrors;

2. Divided by use: there are exterior mirrors, lower mirrors, and inner mirrors.

Rearview mirrors are used for different purposes, and their mirror structures are also different. Generally, there are two main types of mirrors:

One is a plane mirror, which is often used as an inner rearview mirror, which can get the same image as the visual size like a general household mirror, and the other is a convex mirror, which has a radius of curvature of different sizes, and the mirror surface is spherical. It has a smaller image than the visual view, but a large field of view. This type of convex mirror is often used as an exterior and lower mirror.

Finally, the interior rearview mirror has an anti-glare function, when the light of the car behind the car shines on the rearview mirror, the rearview mirror can absorb the strong light, reduce the reflection of the strong light, and avoid the reflected strong light just shining on the driver's eyes to prevent glare. The study found that the effect of glare increased the driver's reaction time by 1.4 seconds. When the car is driving at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, it will nearly double the braking distance, which is very dangerous for driving, and the anti-glare rearview mirror effectively solves the driver's glare response and ensures driving safety.
